Discover the nearby cenotes

In the outskirts of Tulum are some beautiful places, including the natural pools which most of them are connected by underground rivers. Since 1987 it is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and a protected natural area with astounding beauty. Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve is south of Tulum and comprehends both the inland surface and 74 mi (120 km) of coral barriers on the coastline, that is part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System.

Sian Ka’an is a Mayan name that means the origin of heaven and is home for jaguars, peccaries, tapirs, manatees, and dozens of bird and reptile species. The undersea along the coastline houses lobsters, queen conch, and sea turtles, among other species.

Muyil
